The Right Nutrients in the Right Quantities

While Hill’s pet foods contain high-quality ingredients, our research proves that it’s the proper balance of nutrients supplied by those ingredients that is really key.

Guided by our evidence-based research, Hill’s formulates its foods with the precise balance of these nutrients to meet the specific needs of pets associated with their lifestage, size or special needs.

Too Much is as Harmful as too Little

In fact, a wide range of common disease conditions can be made worse or even caused by consistently feeding foods with an incorrect balance of nutrients.

Why are some Foods not Well Balanced?

In some cases it’s simply cheaper to make them this way. For example adding extra salt is a cheap way to make foods more palatable and low quality proteins often come with excess bone and minerals. Some pet food companies rely on the fact that pet owners wouldn’t know how to identify these foods or understand the dangers.
